Classic Snickerdoodles
Perfectly soft and chewy, these classic snickerdoodles are rolled in cinnamon sugar for a delightful crunch.

Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, cream of tartar, baking soda, and salt.

In a large bowl, beat butter and 1 1/2 cups of sugar together until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time.

Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined.

In a small bowl, mix the remaining 1/4 cup sugar and 2 tablespoons cinnamon. Shape dough into 1-inch balls and roll in the cinnamon-sugar mixture.

Place balls 2 inches apart on prepared baking sheets. Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until set but still soft. Let cool on baking sheets for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack.
